Email dated 4/3/2016

Maya Members,

**I apologize in advance for the long email but there is a lot of important information. Please read**

The Open is almost here and I want to thank everyone who has helped so far. The entire club is looking excellent right now. We are in the final stretches with only a couple work parties left to dial everything in. Please come out and help if at all possible even if it is only for a short while.

Work Parties:
Tuesday 4/5 - Animal repair and prep
Saturday 4/9 - Last big work party on range. Plenty of work for everyone. Need as much strong help as we can for bales, mowing etc.
Tuesday 4/12 - Final animal prep and staging animals to go out (loading)
Friday 4/15 - Setup for the 3-D Championship and Open. Animals have to go out etc. (busy day, need lots of help)
Saturday 4/16 - If you can show up early, there will be work to do before the 3-D Championship starts. Need some volunteers to work during the day. See below for details.

Club 3-D Championship
Members shoot the 42 target Open on Saturday the 16th
Club members will have an opportunity to shoot the entire Open. I know a lot of members look forward to the opportunity to shoot the large exotic animals we have like the elephant.
In order to make this possible we have to set up range for the Open and Club Shoot on Friday. Being a weekday it is difficult get help setting up so if you can manage to get out there to help on Friday the 15th we can use all the help we can get.

DAY OF THE OPEN
Everyone working the Open other than PM crews need to be there by 6am. Parking for members/ workers will be in a small parking lot next to Teichert (rock plant across from range) on Berry St. and down the street itself after that fills up. Members cannot park on the range as parking will be tight for the event already.
The most important things to do first thing in the morning will be to;
MAKE SURE TO SIGN IN (please know your member #. It helps)
MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER (sign in sheet)
MAKE SURE YOU GRAB A VEST
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR WHO YOU ARE REPORTING TO

Saturday Volunteer to work instead of shoot:
We are looking for a handful of volunteers to work the bike trail at the front gate and out back during the Club 3-D Championship on Saturday while everyone else shoots. Those who are willing to help out on Saturday can shoot the Open on Sunday and will also fulfill their work obligation for working the open.
Please contact me if you can do this.

Jobs for the Open:
We can still use some people for a few different positions;
As many volunteers for afternoon cleanup as possible.

  • Those who can work parking in the morning and leave by 8:30am - 9:00am and then return for cleanup around 3:00pm would be ideal.
  • Those who have obligations in the morning and can only show up in the afternoon, this would be an excellent way to get your credit.

    I could use 1 or 2 more people with nice cameras that know how to use them and want to walk the course through the day taking pictures.
    If you have a quad or a trailer that can be brought out to the range for the weekend please contact me.

If you have easy up canopies and radios that you can bring it would be much appreciated.

A huge thanks from everyone at Maya for helping keep the range looking so great. We appreciate all your effort.

Thanks,
Jeff Azar
Vice President
